Luis Rioja returns to Mendizorroza

The Valencia CF winger played 5 seasons at Deportivo Alavés
Valencia CF winger Luis Rioja, will return this coming Wednesday to Mendizorroza. The Andalusian played for Deportivo Alavés for five seasons.
In that time (2019/20 to 2023/24), he played a total of 189 games in LALIGA, including one in the 2024/25 season before joining Valencia CF.
Rioja’s importance and influence on the pitch this season are highlighted by several key statistics. He is the player with the third most minutes played, behind Tárrega (2,757) and Mosquera (3,050), and the third top scorer for Valencia CF with five goals, behind Diego López (8) and Hugo Duro (11). Additionally, he ranks fourth in assists (3) and fourth in ball recoveries (22) within the squad.

His strong performance has also been recognized by LALIGA EA SPORTS, naming him in the EA Sports FC 25 Team of the Week for Matchday 21 after his excellent showing against RC Celta de Vigo, where he scored a goal and provided an assist.

On Wednesday evening, Rioja will have the opportunity to continue contributing to the team’s impressive run of results and help secure a third consecutive victory.
